Stir Fry Wednesday

Recipe from my live stream of Stir fry Wednesday.  A play on words of Stir Fry. usually, Fridays are Stir fry days or Stir Friday, but any day you can make this delicious meal.

Honey Garlic Sauce Recipe

3/4 cups brown sugar
5 cloves of garlic minced
1 teaspoon of minced ginger
5 tablespoons of honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water

In a saucepan add all the ingredients except for the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water.
Bring to a gentle boil, and simmer for 5 minutes to cook the garlic and ginger.
Then add cornstarch to remaining water, mix until smooth, then add to pot.
bring the pot up to a boil, let thicken and remove from heat. 
Can be stored in airtight container for a week in the refrigerator, 

Sweet and Sour Sauce

1/2 cup ketchup.
1 teaspoon regular soy sauce.
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar.
1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed.
2-3 tablespoons of sugar
3/4 cup  unsweetened pineapple juice
1 tablespoon of corn starch
2 tablespoons warm water

In a saucepan add all the ingredients except for the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water.
Bring to a gentle boil, and simmer for 5 minutes to incorporate the flavors.
Then add cornstarch to remaining water, mix until smooth, then add to pot.

For the Beef and Broccoli Stir fry

2 shallots chopped
2 lbs of flank steak, silver skin removed, cut against the grain
2 stalks of broccoli florets cut into bite size pieces
1 cup of Honey Garlic Sauce

Bring frying pan up to temp and add about 2 table spoons of high smoke point oil, I like to use Grape seed oil. 
Add shallots and cook until thy start to break apart. Then add beef and stir until beef is fully cooked. Then add broccoli and continue to stir until it is a rich deep green in color.

Add Honey Garlic Sauce and stir until thickened, then serve.
